Network Notices

We pride ourselves on our reliable network and server systems. Please find below details of any known network or server issues under attendance and that have been resolved by our engineers.

SERVER UPGRADE IN PROCESS

We are happy to announce we are upgrading all web servers over the course of this week and next. All should go smoothly but if you notice any issues with your mail or site kindly call our hotline on 021-6803817 ext 108. We have people working after hours to monitor calls. 9:44 AM - 10:24 AM SAST

We were facing an intermittent problem with MySQL causing too many sleep queries. We are working on solving this. It is not effecting functionality but causes some sites to stop working temporarily.

01:30PM SAST

Some of our web sites were effected due to a database load issue that was immediately attended to by our engineers. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

15:30 - 16:26 SAST

Our DNS provider in SA experienced a power and generator failure which resulted in loss of DNS services for 56 minutes. This might have caused temporary issues with web sites and e-mail delivery.

CRITICAL SERVER ISSUE

We had a series of hardware failures leading to extended downtime. Our engineers are presently attending and we apologize profusely for any inconvenience.

SERVER ISSUE

Our main webserver was down due to primary hard disk failure. All services were restored at 11:58 SAST, after 50 minutes of downtime.

Server Issue

Our main webserver was down due to a technical fualt from aprox 06:00 SAST. All services were restored at 08:21 SAST.

Web Site Issue with kalkbay.co.za

We have an issue with kalkbay.co.za that might cause browsers to give a warning about the site. This is due to an issue in the version of Drupal we were using. It is presently being attended to.

NETWORK OUTAGE

We had a network outage on Saturday morning that effected all hosted web sites. The matter was attended to promptly and resolved at 12:08pm. The outage began around 9:30am.

DNS RESTRUCTURING IN PROCESS

We are currently restructuring our DNS system so that it is 100% failsafe and thus a few domains might be effected intermintantly. Please call 021-680-3817 if you are facing any problems at the moment. All work will be complete at the end of today.

MySQL connection error

We are facing an intermitant problem with MySQL and SQLYog software causing too many sleep queries. We are working on solving this. It is not effecting functionality but causes some sites to stop working temporarily.

Update:

There is a minor bug with SQLYog  6.6 which causes too many connection error when the program crashes. We suggest people using SQLYog to download the latest version SQLYog 7.1 which doesn't give any problem.

Database driven site affected temporarily

We had a hard disk failure in our RAID array causing temporary disturbance to our MySQL server. All database driven sites were effected. The issue was given utmost priority and was resolved in a few hours.

Email error

We had a problem with our mail servers that caused mail to be delayed and or bounce from 29/09 14:38 (SA time) until 07:54 on 30/09. The matter was urgently attended to and the service was repaired.

DNS Conflict

There was a minor DNS conflict on our server that affected a few of our domains. The conflict is now resolved and there should be no DNS problem with any of our domains now.

REVERSE DNS ISSUE

We are facing a issue with reverse DNS that might effect some domains that are registered independently.
