We are firmly commited to open source software technologies for a better world and a better web. We have extensive experience installing open source softwares and below we list a sample of just a few that are commonly used for web sites:
This was voted best CMS in 2009 and is a very powerful and complex CMS that has has been used by many corporations and large organizations. For a simple webblog or small site we prefer WordPress or Joomla but for any complex site that is going to be very much focused as a community portal, we suggestion Drupal.
Wordpress was #1 CMS for 2010 and it's usability and short learning curve are why. You can just plug and play new features into the system. Once you get it installed you need to theme it or find someone to theme it and then it is a CMS in a box. Very good for small to medium organizations focused on lots of regularly updated content but equally good for a static site too.
Joomla has been there for ages starting off as Mambo and it is without doubt the most powerful and most extendable of CMS's. It is our personal favorite for most projects. It is quite easy to learn, there are lots of people out there who are expert with it and it can do just about anything.
There are so many more open source technologies out there that can do pretty much anything and we'd be happy to set one of them up for you.
